Here's the current thinking on the warehouse
I am interested in creating a flexible project space that provides both dedicated shop and storage for each of us, as well as a common open courtyard where each of us can spread out temporarily when it's time to work on big stuff. The container is yours to do with as you like. You can set it up like a small shop, workbench, darkroom, painting studio, storage bin, or generally make a mess of it as you like. The courtyard is shared so you have to cooperate and respect your fellow citizens (a litle bit at least). There is about 4,000 sq ft of open blacktop in the courtyard. Lots of space to build. Lots of space for events. Lots of space for whatever. Renting a container gives you unlimited use of the shated courtyard, as long as you are nice and reasonable.
The lot currently only has the buildings labelled "Jim's House" and "Covered Patio". The rest is an empty black top lot right now. The shipping containers will arrive and be placed in the above positions on Nov 1. You can move in on Nov 2. The three shop areas will be created over the winter using simple prefab roof and wall solutions, building out from the shipping containers. Shipping containers are steel so you can weld on them and easily attach steel wall framing and roof beams and fixtures and whatnot. I am taking Shop #1. Michael Christian will be in Shop #2. Shop #3 is still in play.
All shipping containers are stacked two high. Access to the second level is via rolling stairs, ladders, scissor lift, etc. We will run power to all the containers as soon as possible. Before then, we can easily run extention cords. There is very solid 110 on site and both single-phase and three-phase 220.
